It has successively been available in classical colours, teracotta, taupe, anthacite, steel grey, etc, it has been in playful colours: orange, blue, lillac, etc, and available in translucent colours, violet, green, red, etc, it is finished today in a luxurious silver, gold or pink metallic lacquer, evolving from polypropylene to ABS.

Never out of fashion, included in the biggest modern art and decorative arts museums of the world, the Bubu stool is still selling at a fast pace, because it has never been replaced. So I believe that this is the ideal stool to write a new SolidWorks tutorial for. In this tutorial I will show you exactly how to model this stool in SolidWorks. The layout of the tutorial is identical to my more advanced tutorials like the SolidWorks Chopper tutorial.

Create a new sketch on the Front Plane

Select the Front Plane in the Feature Manager

Click at the 2D Sketch icon to make a new sketch 

Click at the Normal To option to rotate and zoom the model normal to the selected Plane. 

Draw the lines  as shown in the picture

Add the dimensions  as shown in the picture

Create a Revolve

Go to: Insert > Boss/Base > Revolve or click at the revolve icon 

Axis of revolution : Select the vertical blue line as shown in the picture

Click OK 

Select the blue surface and click at the 2D Sketch icon to make a new sketch 

Draw the circle as shown in the picture 

Change the dimension of the circle into 200 mm as shown in the picture by clicking at the dimension button 

Create a Split Line

Go to: Insert > Curve > Split Line or click at the Split Line icon 

Select Sketch2 as Sketch to Project 

Select the cyan face as Faces to Split 

Click OK 

Create a Dome

Go to: Insert > Features > Dome or click at the dome icon 

Select the blue surface as Dome Surface 

Set the Dome Distance to 2 mm

Click at the Reverse Direction button to direct the Dome inwards

Click OK 

Create a Fillet

Go to: Insert > Features > Fillet/Round or click at the Fillet icon 

Click at the blue edge as shown in the picture

Change the Radius into 500 mm 

Click OK 

Create a new sketch on the Front Plane

Select the Front Plane in the Feature Manager

Click at the 2D Sketch icon to make a new sketch 

Click at the Normal To option to rotate and zoom the model normal to the selected Plane. 

Draw the line  as shown in the picture

Make the line Collinear to the outer edge

Select the outer edge of the revolve, hold down the Control key and select the new line

Click at the Collinear icon to make the line Collinear 

Add the dimensions  as shown in the picture

Close the sketch 

Create a new plane

Go to: Insert > Reference Geometry > Plane or click at the New Plane icon 

First Reference : Select the lower point of the new line as First Reference

Second Reference : Select the Top Plane as Second Reference

Click OK 

Create a new sketch on the new Plane1

Select the Plane1 in the Feature Manager

Click at the 2D Sketch icon to make a new sketch 

Draw the centerline as shown in the picture 

Change the dimension clicking at the dimension button 

Draw the circle as shown in the picture and detail 

Close the sketch 

Select the blue surface and click at the 2D Sketch icon to make a new sketch 

Draw the circle as shown in the picture 

Draw the vertical centerline as shown in the picture 

Change the dimension clicking at the dimension button 

Trim the left side of the circle

Go to: Tools > Sketch Tools > Trim or click at the Trim icon 

Select the Power Trim option

Zoom in at the left side of the circle

Click and drag the cursor over the circle to remove it

Draw a spline with one midpoint as shown in the picture 

Click at the Spline, hold down the Control key and select the half circle

Click at the Tangency icon to make a tangent relation between the spline and the half circle

Do the same thing for the other side of the spline as shown in the picture.

Close the sketch 

Create a Solid Loft

Go to: Insert > Boss/Base > Loft or click at the Loft icon 

Select Sketch4 and Sketch5 as Profiles 

Click OK 

Create a Fillet

Go to: Insert > Features > Fillet/Round or click at the Fillet icon 

Click at the blue edge as shown in the picture

Change the Radius into 20 mm 

Click OK 

Create a Circular Pattern

Go to: Insert > Pattern/Mirror > Circular Pattern or click at the Circular Pattern icon 

Pattern Axis : Select the blue surface as shown in the picture

Total Angle : 360 deg

Number of instances : 3

Select the “Equal Spacing” option.

Features to Pattern : Loft1 and Fillet2

Click OK 

Create a Fillet

Go to: Insert > Features > Fillet/Round or click at the Fillet icon 

Click at the two blue surfaces as shown in the picture

Change the Radius into 4 mm 

Click OK  

Select the blue surface and click at the 2D Sketch icon to make a new sketch 

Draw the circle as shown in the picture 

Change the dimension of the circle into 25 mm as shown in the picture by clicking at the dimension button 

Create an Extruded Cut

Go to: Insert > Cut > Extrude or click at the extrude icon 

Direction 1  : Blind

Change  into 4 mm

Click OK 

Create a Shell

Go to Insert > Features > Shell or click at the Shell icon 

Select the blue surface as shown in the picture

Change D1 into 3 mm 

Click OK 

Create a Fillet

Go to: Insert > Features > Fillet/Round or click at the Fillet icon 

Click at the blue edge as shown in the picture

Change the Radius into 0,5 mm 

Click OK 

Create a new sketch on the Right Plane

Select the Right Plane in the Feature Manager

Click at the 2D Sketch icon to make a new sketch 

Click at the Normal To option to rotate and zoom the model normal to the selected Plane. 

Draw the line as shown in the picture 

Add the dimension as shown in the picture 

Close the sketch 

Create an Extruded Cut

Go to: Insert > Cut > Extrude or click at the extrude icon 

Direction 1  : Trough All

Direction 2  : Trough All

Enable the Thin Feature option

Change  into 3 mm

Click OK

Wikipedia says the following about it:

“In geometry, a dodecahedron is any polyhedron with twelve flat faces, but usually a regular dodecahedron is meant: a Platonic solid. It is composed of 12 regular pentagonal faces, with three meeting at each vertex, and is represented by the Schläfli symbol {5,3}. It has 20 vertices, 30 edges and 160 diagonals.” – Wikipedia

After a little research I discovered a SolidWorks model of Azrael from Grabcad. His SolidWorks model is so interesting that I’ve written a tutorial about it. Below I will show you exactly how to model a Dodecahedron with only two features in SolidWorks! I will also teach you how to use the Equations feature. Enjoy it and don’t forget to share this tutorial with other SolidWorkers!

Open a new part with model units set to millimeters

Go to: File > New > Part 

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Top Plane in the feature tree (menu at the left side) and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

The display changes so the Top plane faces you.

Create a Construction Circle

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Circle or click at the circle icon 

Create a sketch which starts at the Origin. 

Change the dimensions of the circle into 100 mm by clicking at the dimension button 

Click at the Circle and change the Solid Line into a Centerline by clicking at the For Construction option

Click OK 

Draw a Polygon

Go toTools > Sketch Entities > Polygon or click at the polygon icon  

Change the number of corners into 5 as shown in the picture

Make sure that the top point of the Polygon is connected with the construction circle

Select the top point of the polygon, hold down the Control key and select the circle

Click at the Coincident relation feature to add a relation between the polygon and circle 

 Make the sketch fully defined as shown in the picture

There has to be a Ratio between the dimension of the Polygon and the height of the Extrude

For a Dodecahedron this ratio is 1 : Sinus( 18)+1.

When the dimension of the circle is 100, the height of the Extrude has to be Height Extrude x Sin(18)+1

With the Equations feature you can automate complicated relations between the size of the construction circle and the height of the Extrude.

Let’s add the Equations for this model.

Go to Tools > Equations or click at the Equations button 

Go to Add

Type: “Ratio”=sin(18)+1

Click OK

Now SolidWorks knows what the value of the “Ratio” is.

Add a second Equations

The Height of the Dodecahedron has to be the Ratio x the dimension of Sketch1

Go to Add

Type: “Height”= “D1@Sketch1″ * “Ratio”

NOTE: For “D1@Sketch1″ you can click at the dimension of Sketch1 instead of writing “D1@Sketch1”

Click OK

Now SolidWorks knows that the “Height” of the  Dodecahedron is the Dimension of Sketch1 x the Ratio.

Click OK

Create an Extruded Boss/Base

Go to: Insert > Boss/Base > Extrude or click at the Extrude icon 

The Boss-Extrude menu appears

Direction 1 is set to Blind 

Change D1 into 10 mm 

Click at the Draft icon 

Change the Angle into 26.56505118deg

Select the Draft outward option

Click OK 

SolidWorks has to know that the “Height” is equal to the height (D1) of Extrude1.

Add a third Equation for this model.

Go to Tools > Equations or click at the Equations  button 

Type: “D1@Boss-Extrude1″ = “Height”

Click OK

As you can see in the picture, the height of the Extrude changes into 130.9mm.

(if not click at the Rebuild button ) 

Create another 2D sketch

Select the blue surface and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Click at the Normal To button to look perpendicular on the blue surface 

Change the view into a Wireframe

Click at the Hidden Line Visible box in the ViewManager 

Create a Construction Circle

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Circle or click at the circle icon 

Create a sketch which starts at the Origin. 

Connect the circle with a point of the previous polygon as shown in the picture

Click at the Circle and change the Solid Line into a Centerline by clicking at the For Construction option

Click OK 

Draw a Polygon

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Polygon or click at the polygon icon 

Change the number of corners into 5 as shown in the picture.

Place the new Polygon exactly between the previous polygon as shown in the pictures

Use construction lines when necessary.

Create an Extruded Cut

Go to: Insert > Cut > Extrude or click at the Extrude Cut icon 

The Cut-Extrude menu appears

Direction 1 is set to Blind 

Change D1 into 10 mm 

Click at the Draft icon 

Change the Angle into 26.56505118deg

Select the Flip side to cut

Click OK 

SolidWorks has to know that the height of the Cut Extrude is equal to the height (D1) of Extrude1.

Add a fourth Equation for this model.

Go to Tools > Equations or click at the Equations  button 

Type: “D1@Cut-Extrude1″ = “Height”

Click OK

As you can see in the picture, the height of the Extrude changes into 130.9mm.

(if not click at the Rebuild button )

Well that’s all! You’ve just created a perfect Dodecahedron and hopefully learned something about the Equations feature. And the best part is, when you change the size of the first polygon sketch, the sizes of all the other features will automatically change as well (thanks to the Equations).

Today I’ll show you how to create a mold for a coke bottle in SolidWorks. We’ll use the Cravity feature to do this. This tool can be very helpfull to subtract a shape from another shape. In this case we’ll subtract the shape of a plastic bottle froma solid block (the mold). I will also show you how to Split a part into to new parts. I hope you will learn something from my SolidWorks tutorials.

Download this model of a Bottle here and Unzip it into your working map.

Open the file Bottle.SLDPRT

Go to: File > New > Open > Bottle. SLDPRT

NOTE: It’s  a bottle without an inner space to create the shape of the mold.

Now it’s time to draw the mold block

Open a new part with model units set to millimeters

Go to: File > New > Part 

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Front Plane in the feature tree (menu at the left side) and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

The display changes so the Front plane faces you.

Draw a Center Rectangle

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Center Rectangle or click at the center rectangle icon 

Create a sketch which starts at the Origin. 

Change the dimensions of the rectangle into 100 and 250 mm by clicking at the dimension button 

Create an Extruded Boss/Base

Go to: Insert > Boss/Base > Extrude or click at the Extrude icon 

The Boss-Extrude menu appears

Direction 1 is set to Midplane 

Change D1 into 100 mm 

Click OK 

Save  the file with the following name: Mold_Block.SLDPRT

Create a new assembly

Go to File > New > Assembly or click at the Assembly icon 

Select the three planes in the feature tree and make them visible by clicking on the glasses. 

Insert the Mold_Block

Go to: Insert > Component > Existing Part/Assembly 

Click on the   button.

Select the Mold_Block.SLDPRT in your working map.

Click OK 

The Mold_Block is fixed automatically in the assembly.

Insert the Coke bottle

Go to: Insert > Component > Existing Part/Assembly 

Click on the   button.

Select the Bottle.SLDPRT in your working map.

Place the model of the Bottle next to the Mold_Block as shown in the picture.

Unhide the Planes

Go to View > Planes or click at the Planes icon 

If the planes keep unvisible click at the Glasses  in the Feature Tree to Unhide the planes as shown in the picture

Place the Bottle inside the Mold_Block

Create a coincident mate

Go to: Insert > Mate 

Select the coincident option. 

Select the Front Plane of the Mold Block and the Front Plane of the Bottle.

Click OK 

Create another coincident mate

Go to: Insert > Mate 

Select the coincident option. 

Select the Top Plane of the Mold Block and the MIDPLANE of the Bottle.

Click OK 

Create another coincident mate

Go to: Insert > Mate 

Select the coincident option. 

Select the Right Plane of the Mold Block and the Right Plane of the Bottle.

Click OK 

The two models are now fully defined.

Use the Section View to check if the Bottle is inside the Mold Block.

Go to View > Display > Section View or click at the Section View button 

Now it’s time to subtract the model of the bottle from the Mold Block.

Click at the Mold_Block and click at the Edit Part icon as shown in the picture 

You’ll get the Following warning: “The assembly must be saved to perform this command”

Click at Save and Continue to Save the assembly.

I will show you how the Cavity feature works.

Go to: Insert > Features > Cavity or click at the Cavity icon 

Select the Bottle in the Feature Tree as Design Components.

Click OK 

Click at the Edit Part button in the upper right corner to close the Part mode. 

Now I will show you how to split the Mold into two parts

Draw a Split line

Select the Right Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw a vertical line as shown in the picture 

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner to close the 2D Sketch 

Go to Insert > Features > Split or click at the Split icon 

Select Sketch2 as Trim Tool and click at Cut Part 

Select Part 1 and Part 2 in the Resulting Bodies tab and change the names of the parts

Click OK 

 You’re done!

Now you know how to model a Mold in SolidWorks.

Direction 1 is set to Blind 

Change D1 into 10 mm 

Click OK 

Create another 2D sketch

Select the selected blue surface as shown in the picture and create a new sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Create a Horizontal Centerline

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Centerline or click at the centerline icon 

Change the position of the centerline as shown in the picture by clicking at the dimension button 

Now it’s time to draw the actual Text in SolidWorks

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Text or click at the Text icon 

Click at the Horizontal Centerline as Text Curve 

Type your text into Text box

Unable the Use document font option

Now we’re going to change the Size and the Font of the text.

Click at the Font option

In the Font box you can pick a Font you’ll prefer

In the Font Style box you can choose between a regular, Italic, Bolt and Italic Bolt.

In the Height box you can change the Size and Spaces of the Font

Pick your settings and click OK to apply.

Click at Sketch2 in the Feature Tree to select the Text

Create an Extruded Boss/Base

Go to: Insert > Boss/Base > Extrude or click at the Extrude icon 

The Boss-Extrude menu appears

Direction 1 is set to Blind

Change D1 into 5 mm 

Click OK 

NOTE: If you use a circle or spline as Text Curve you can warp a Text along a path as shown in the picture

Change the color of the Text Background

Select Extrude1 in the Feature Tree

Click at the Appearances button

Click at Boss-Extrude1

Pick a color you like

Click OK  

Change the color of the Text

Select Extrude2 in the Feature Tree

Click at the Appearances button 

Click at Boss-Extrude2

Pick a color you like

Click OK  

You’re done!

Now you know how to create a Text in SolidWorks.

Or perhaps you’ve designed a bottle and want to know what the volume is. Or you want to measure and reduce the weight of your newest carbon race wheel. Luckily SolidWorks has a useful tool to calculate material properties like this in a few clicks. I will show you how it works.

Open the SolidWorks model of the Citrus Squeezer or download it here

Go to Tools > Mass properties or click at the Mass properties icon 

In the Mass properties box you can find many material properties.

The surface area of the squeezer is 40091mm2 as you can see in the orange rectangle.

With this square millimeter to square meter converter you can convert the mm2 into m2. (or place the comma 6 steps to the left.)

Fill in the 40091 mm2 and click at the = icon

The surface area of your squeezer is approximately around 0.04 m2

As you can see  in the Mass Properties box in SolidWorks, the volume of our model is 169301 mm3.

With this mm3 to m3 converter you can convert the mm3 into m3. (or place the comma 6 steps to the left.)

Fill in the 169301 mm3 and click at the = icon

As you can see in the picture the volume of your squeezer is approximately around 0.00017 m3

You can also see the Mass of your model. It’s important to setup a material first to get the right properties.

Another great value is the “Center of mass”

This information will tell you where  the center of your product is.

Center of mass: ( millimeters )

X = 0.00

Y = 204.73

Z = 0.00

The information above tells you that the center of your product is 204,73 mm above the origin of this part.

Open a new part with model units set to millimeters

Create a 2D sketch

Create a shape with the Spline tool

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Spline 

Use multiple Spline points to create a contour as shown in the picture

Make sure that the endpoint of the Spline is connected with the startpoint of the Spline  to create a closed contour.

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Create a new plane parallel at the Front Plane

Go to: Insert > Reference Geometry > Plane or click at the Plane icon 

Select the Front Plane as shown in the picture.

Change the Offset Distance  into 110 mm. 

Click OK 

Create a Circle sketch

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Circle or click at the circle icon 

Draw a circle as shown in the picture

Close the Sketch 

Create a 3D Sketch

Click at the Dropdown menu under the 2D sketch option to select the 3D Sketch icon 

Create a shape with the Spline tool

Go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Spline or click at the Spline icon 

Draw a two-point Spline without any midpoints.

Change the dimensions of the blue Spline arrow to create a curve as shown in the picture.

Close the Sketch

Now it’s time to draw the Loft

Go to Insert > Boss/Base > Loft or click at the Loft icon 

Select Sketch1 and Sketch2 as loft profiles 

Enanble the Show preview option

Drag at the green balls if you can’t see a preview

Add a Guide Curve

To define the shape of the Loft it’s possible to add (multiple) Guide Curves.

Click in the purple Guide Curve box and select 3DSketch1 in the feature tree or the model 

Click OK  to apply your Loft

Open a new part with model units set to millimeters

Go to: File > New > Part

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Right Plane in the feature tree (menu at the left side) and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

The display changes so the Right plane faces you.

Insert a reference picture

For this tutorial we use a blueprint of the Deoroller to approach the organic shape as good as possible.

Download the picture here and save it into your SolidWorks folder

Go to: Tools > Sketch Tools > Sketch Picture 

Go to your SolidWorks folder and select the picture “SIDEVIEW_DEOROLLER.Jpg”

Click: Open

Change the dimensions and position of the picture with the menu as shown in the picture.

Select ‘’Full image’’ in the Transparency tab and change the transparency into 0.40

Click OK 

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Insert a second reference picture

Select the Front Plane in the feature tree (menu at the left side) and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Download the picture here and save it into your SolidWorks folder

Go to: Tools > Sketch Tools > Sketch Picture 

Go to your SolidWorks folder and select the picture “FRONTVIEW_DEOROLLER.Jpg”

Click: Open

Change the dimensions and position of the picture with the menu as shown in the picture.

Select ‘’Full image’’ in the Transparency tab and change the transparency into 0.40

Click OK 

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Right Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw the two centerlines as shown in the picture 

Change the dimensions by clicking at the dimension button 

Fix the two lines with the Fix icon 

Draw the two lines as shown in the picture 

Change the dimensions by clicking at the dimension button 

Draw a spline without any midpoints 

Select one of the straight lines, hold down the control key and select the spline

Click at the Tangent icon as shown in the picture 

Repeat this action for the other side of the spline

Change the length of the arrows to approach the curve of the blueprint

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Create a Surface Revolve

Go to Insert > Surface > Revolve or click at the Revolve icon 

Click at the blue Centerline to define the Axis of Revolution 

Use the One-Direction option 

Set the Revolution Angle to 360 degrees 

Click OK 

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Right Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw the line as shown in the picture 

Change the dimensions by clicking at the dimension button 

Make sure that the angle of the line is equal to the front curve of the deoroller

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Rename the Sketch4

Double click at Sketch4 in the feature tree and rename it to GUIDELINE_FRONT

Create another 2D sketch

Select the Right Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw the line as shown in the picture 

Change the dimensions by clicking at the dimension button 

Make sure that the angle of the line is equal to the back curve of the deoroller

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Rename the Sketch5

Double click at Sketch5 in the feature tree and rename it to GUIDELINE_BACK

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Front Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw a spline without midpoints as shown in the picture 

Change the length of the lower arrow to approach the curve of the blueprint

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Rename the Sketch6

Double click at Sketch6 in the feature tree and rename it to GUIDELINE_SIDE

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Top Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw the centerline as shown in the picture 

Connect the centerline with the endpoints of GUIDELINE_FRONT and GUIDELINE_BACK

Draw a spline with four points as shown in the picture 

Connect three points with GUIDLINE_FRONT, GUIDELINE_BACK and GUIDELINE_SIDE

Draw the fourth point somewhere in the space as shown in the picture

Make the Spline symmetric

Select the right point, hold down the Control key, select the centerline and select the left point.

Click at the Symmetric option in the menu 

Click OK 

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Rename the Sketch7

Double click at Sketch7 in the feature tree and rename it to PROFILE

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Right Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw a line, starting at Origin 

Change the length of the line to 58 mm 

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Rename the Sketch8

Double click at Sketch8 in the feature tree and rename it to PATH

Create a Surface Sweep 

Go to Insert > Surface > Sweep or click at the Sweep icon 

Select the PROFILE sketch in the Feature Tree as Sweep Profile

Select the PATH sketch in the Feature Tree as Sweep Path

Select GUIDLINE_FRONT, GUIDELINE_BACK and GUIDELINE_SIDE in the Feature Tree as Sweep Guides

Click OK 

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Right Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw the line as shown in the picture 

Change the dimensions by clicking at the dimension button 

Click at the Sketch button in the upper right corner close the 2D Sketch 

Trim the upper side of the Surface Sweep

Go to: Insert > Surface > Trim or click at the Trim icon 

Click in the Trim tool box 

Select the line of the new Sketch9 as shown in the picture.

Select the “Remove selections” option.

Select the purple surface above the line as shown in the picture. 

Surface Split Options: Natural

Click OK 

Create a Surface Loft 

Go to Insert > Surface > Loft or click at the Surface icon 

Click in the Profiles box 

Select the two edges as shown in the picture

Make sure that the green balls are both on the same end as shown in the picture

If not, click and drag them to the other side of the sketch

Make the Loft Curvature

Click at the Start/End Contraints box

Set the Start constraint to Curvature To Face as shown in the picture

Set the End constraint to Curvature To Face as shown in the picture

You can optimize the shape of the Loft by changing the Length of the Curvature arrows

Click OK 

Fill the bottom of the Deoroller

Go to: Insert > Surface > Fill or click at the Fill icon 

Click OK 

Knit the surfaces and create a solid body

Go to Insert > Surface > Knit or click at the Surface Knit icon 

Click in the Selections box and select the 4 blue surfaces 

Select the ‘’Try to form solid’’ option

Select the “Merge entities” option

Deselect the ‘’Gap Control’’ option

Click OK 

Create a fillet on the edge of the bottom

Go to: Insert > Features > Fillet/Round or click at the Fillet icon 

Select the edge as shown in the picture.

Change the Radius into 2 mm 

Click OK 

Create a new Axis

Go to: Insert > Reference Geometry

Select the Cylindrical/Conical Face option

Select the blue surface as shown in the picture

Click OK 

Create a 2D sketch

Select the Right Plane in the feature tree and create a sketch by clicking on the 2D Sketch icon 

Draw the rectangle using the 3 Point Corner Rectangle option as shown in the picture and detail 

Change the dimensions by clicking at the dimension button 

Create a Revolved Cut

Go to: Insert > Cut > Revolve or click at the Cut Revolve icon 

Axis of revolution : Select Axis1.

Click OK 

Save  the file with the following name: Deoroller.SLDPRT

Congratulations, you just finished the Deoroller!
